Sarah Louise Stockdale was born February 27, 1907, in Lake Township, Humboldt County, Iowa, the daughter of Louis and Mary Hendrickson Stockdale. She attended rural Lake school, and graduated from Goldfield High School. Sarah was united in marriage to William E. Hefti of Renwick, on October 1, 1928, at her parents home west of Goldfield. They had farmed since their marriage, north of Renwick for a time, and since then had lived and farmed N.W. of Goldfield. Sarah had lived in the Clarion Care Center since March 29, 1982. She died there on Sunday, August 3, at the age of 79 years, five months, and six days. She is survived by her husband, one daughter (Phyllis) Mrs. Ken Stoakes, Goldfield, two brothers, George Stockdale, Pocahontas, and Willis Stockdale, Erie, Pa., one sister, Mrs. Lulu Martin, Fort Dodge, and two grandchildren, Tim and Deanna. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Wilton, and three brothers: Milford, Henry and Leslie Stockdale. Sarah was a member of the Lake Lutheran Church, and Ladies Aid (ALCW).

Funeral services were held at 1:30 on Tuesday, August 5, at the Lake Lutheran Church, near Goldfield. Dr. Palmer B. Wold and Pastor Oliver officiated. Burial was in Vernon Township Cemetery, Renwick.
