Ronald M. Carter, age 87, of Waterloo, died Thursday, January 19, 2017 at his home. He was born on December 17, 1929 in Clarion, Iowa; the son of Norval and Kate (Brooks) Carter. He married Ann Rossum Baker on June 12, 1955 in Eagle Grove, IA. Ronald served in the U.S. Navy. He worked for Rath Packing Company for over 30 years, retiring in 1984; he later worked at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home.

Survivors include his wife, Ann; two daughters, Judie Lynn (Randall) Palmer of Spotsylvania, VA and Julie Ann Carter of Waterloo, IA; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents; two grandsons, Brett C. Hill and Dustin B. Palmer; five brothers, Frank, Art, Charles, Richard, and Harold Carter; eight sisters, Ruth Downing, Maxine Danielson, Dorothy Penfield, Eva Jorgenson, Luella Hackett, Lela Hanlin, Dolly Hutton, and Betty Umthun.
