Esther M. Stadtlander, 81, of Hampton, died Wednesday, Sept, 11, 1996, at Hampton Care center.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 14, at St John's Lutheran Church in rural Hampton, with the Rev. Louise Stromberg officiating, Burial was in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

She was born March 20, 1915, in Franklin County, the daughter of Jens G. Jensen and Maren Dorthea Miller. She received her education in country school, Dows High School, and Grand View College. On Nov. 30, 1945, she married John C. Stadtlander at St. John's Lutheran Church. She was a homemaker and a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She was the President of Ladies Aid and held various offices in the church. She was also a member of Coulter Community Retirement Home, Inc.

She was survived by her son, Arvin, and his wife, Delores Stadtlander of Hampton; daughter Laura, and her husband, Darwin Hamilton of Iowa Falls; five grandchildren; and one great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant son, and two brothers.
