Arvon Simons, 61, rural Hampton, died Tuesday evening at Franklin General Hospital. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at St. John's Lutheran Church, southwest of Hampton. Rev. Milton Eklund will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery with arrangements by Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home. Simons was born Jan 26, 1924 in Alexander, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Simons. He graduated from the Hampton Schools. On June 17, 1945 he married Delores Christensen at St John's Lutheran Church. He was a farmer throughout his life. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Bob, Ankeny; and Steve, Dows; two daughters, Mrs. Ron (Cindy) Donatelli, Chicago, Ill.; and Mrs. Howard (Guyla) Pohlman, Hampton; two sisters, Mrs. Junior (Delores) Orr, Hampton; and Mrs. Murrel (Rosalyn) Symens, Hampton; three brothers, Newman and Lowell, both of Hampton; and Larry, New Hartford; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson.
