June 30, 1870 ---- October 5, 1944

William Beckholt, son of Mathias and Barbara Ellen Beckholt was born in Shelby, Illinois in 1870. Here he lived until he was thirty-four, when he moved to Wright county, Iowa. He was the tower man of the Chicago Great Western for over 20 years. He united with the Methodist church February 17, 1929 when he was baptized by the Rev. W. G. Muhleman. He was united in marriage to Lena Wilson Beckholdt on April 26, 1930.

He leaves to mourn his going his wife Lena, and son, Harold R. Beckholt of Spartanburg, South Carolina, one sister, Mrs. Jane Curts of Worthington, South Dakota and a host of friends. He passed away at his home at 6 a. m., Thursday, October 5, 1944 at the age of 74 years, 3 months and 5 days. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mrs. Barbara Ellen Michaels Beckholt, in 1925, father, Mathias Beckholt, 1903, 2 sisters, Mrs. Lou Ellen Myrtle Fisher and Daisy Beckholt and brothers, Clarence, John, and Frank.

Among his virtues, his outstanding was honesty. He was unquestionably honest in his ways.
