DOWS — Michael Wallace Carpenter, 59, of Warsaw, IN, passed away [January 10, 2017] peacefully at home with his wife by his side. Mike was born July 13, 1957, in Clarion, IA, to Wally and Lila Carpenter. He was a graduate of Dows High School where he played football, was in Boy Scouts and was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

Mike moved to Des Moines after graduation where he met and married Sandy Myers on July 9, 1978. He married Dianne Fox on July 7, 2007. Mike worked as a cook for many years. He loved football and playing games and feeding the first popsicle to new babies. He was a huggable man with a sassy personality and stubborn until the very end.

He is survived by his wife Dianne of Warsaw, IN; daughters Renee Fitch (Dean) of Des Moines, IA; the twins Lynne Woods (Steve) of Swan, IA, and Leilani Walker (Mike) of Des Moines, IA; stepdaughter Erin Estep (Brian) of Sunman, IN; sister Linda Brunsvold (Mark) of Apple Valley, MN; grandchildren Cody Fitch, Baylee Woods, Skyler and Misty Walker, Brianna and Aurora Estep; nephew Matthew Brunsvold and niece Sarah Brunsvold. He is preceded in death by his parents, Wally and Lila.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, January 16, 2017, at the Presbyterian Church in Dows, Iowa. Visitation will precede the service beginning at 12:30 p.m. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery, Dows.
