Robert H. (Butch) Pals, 72, of Meservey died December 28, 2016. Funeral services were held January 2, 2017 at First Reformed Church in Meservey with Rev. Rodney Meester officiating. Burial was in the Meservey Cemetery.

Butch was born June 17, 1944, in Hampton, the son of Robert A. and Arlene (Stoffer) Pals. Butch graduated from Alexander High School in 1962. He was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Susan Jurgenson, on September 21, 1963. To this union two children were born – Thomas in 1965 and Sara in 1968. From an early age, farming was his lifelong passion and career. Butch loved hunting, fishing, and trap shooting at the Ventura Gun Club. Fishing trips to Canada with Susan, family, and friends brought him great pleasure.

Butch is survived by his wife, son Thomas (Valerie) Pals, and daughter Sara Pals, all of Alexander; grandchildren Robert Thomas, Brianna Susan, Brandi Jane Pals, Brandon Dean Flurer, and David James Flurer; sister Deborah Pals of Chicago; brother Richard A. Pals of Alexander; sister and brother-in-law Judy and Robert Gross of Clear Lake; numerous nephews and one niece.
