Carole (Thompsen) Kinports, 82, died December 31, 2016 at Sable Palms Health Care Center in Largo, FL. Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 7 at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Largo.

Carole was born in 1934 to A.P. (Dutch) and Emma Thompsen in Emmetsburg. The family moved to Belmond in 1945, and she graduated from Belmond High School in 1953. She earned a BS in nursing at St. Olaf College in 1957. That same year she was married to Lawrence Kinports at Trinity Lutheran Church in Belmond. Carole worked at hospitals in Baltimore, MD and Minneapolis until she and Larry became parents. She loved cooking, crafting, playing tennis and bridge.

Carole was preceeded in death by her parents, and her brother James. She is survived by her husband Larry; children David, Brian (Kerri), James and Robert; grandchildren Kayley, Nicholas and Tyler; siblings Sharon (Cornelius) Maris of Florida and Iowa, Douglas (Fonda) Thompsen of Belmond, and sister-in-law Louise Thompsen of Princeton, IL.
