Dolores Valaine Buhner, the daughter of Ephraim and Mattie (Stockdale) Halgrim, was born May 1, 1922, on a farm near Thor. She was raised and educated in the area of her birth, graduating from Eagle Grove High School in 1941. On May 1, 1943, Dolores was united in marriage to Clarence Buhner at Ullensvang Lutheran Church in Thor. Dolores and Clarence made their home on Fishers Island while Clarence served in the United States Army. They moved to Webster City in 1946 where they owned and operated the Webster City Greenhouse, Fort Dodge Greenhouse and Dee's Flower and Gift Shop. After retirement, Clarence and Dolores moved to Eagle Grove and went into business with their son, Brian, to operate Brian's Malt and Hamburger Shop. They enjoyed traveling to all 50 states.

Dolores passed away Monday, January 2, 2017, at Clarion Wellness and Rehabilitation, at the age of 94 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence; son, Brian; sisters, Helene Halgrim, Mildred Sorensen, Ovedia Morgan and Thelma Ventling. Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Sally Buhner of Edgerton, MN; grandsons, Brian Buhner II of Pipestone, MN, Theodore Buhner and wife Lindsey of Worthington, MN and William Buhner and wife Kaitlyn of Sioux Falls, SD and four great-grandchildren: Bennett, Weston, Brek and Langston.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 7, 2017, at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to services. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
