November 6, 1917 ---- February 24, 1989

Estaline Mae Smith was born November 6, 1917, at Woolstock, the daughter of Claude and Marie Christeson Smith. She received her education in the Webster City schools. She was united in marriage to Eugene Kist of Eagle Grove on July 1, 1934 and they made their home in Eagle Grove, where he operated the Kist Ready-Mix Company. He died in 1962. She was united in marriage to Arthur Zatloukal of Eagle Grove on August 4, 1973 at Clarion. They have lived in Eagle Grove since that time. Peg was a member of the Sacred Heart Church, the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, and the Troy Culture Club.

Estaline (Peg) Zatloukal, became ill and was transferred from Trinity Regional Hospital, Fort Dodge, to St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester, Minn., on Feb. 21. She died the following day, Feb. 22, 1989, during surgery to repair a defective heart muscle. She was 71 years, four months, and 16 days of age.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene Kist; two infant sons; a brother, Francis; and two sisters, Pauline Rapp and Fern Austin. She is survived by her husband, Arthur Zatloukal, Eagle Grove; four sons, Jerold Kist, Eagle Grove; Robert Kist, Eagle Grove; Ronald Kist, Dardanelle, Ark.; Rick Kist, Williams Bay, Wis.; two daughters, Mary Lou Johnson, Eagle Grove; and Mrs. Richard (Dianne) Rasmussen, Eagle Grove; 19 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Howard (Dorothy) Hilpipre, Woolstock; and four brothers, Wayne Smith, Panguitch, Utah; and Ralph, Claude, and Paul Smith, all of Webster City. She is also survived by her stepchildren Richard and Jerold Zatloukal, of Clear Lake; Patrick Zatloukal, Nashville, Tenn.; and Daniel Zatloukal, Webster City; two step-daughters, Kathryn Zatloukal, Eagan, Minn.; and Donna Rohrer, San Diego, Calif; and 12 step-grandchildren.

The Catholic Daughters of the Americas held a Rosary at the start of visitation Monday, Feb. 27 at 2 p.m. A parish Rosary was held at 7:30 p.m. that evening, at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. February 28, at the Sacred Heart Church in Eagle Grove. The Rev. Wayne Droessler officiated and burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
