Final Rites For L. P. Eversz

Louis P. Eversz, 80, died Sunday following a lengthy illness. Mr. Eversz was in the marble business here for many years, and was a stone carver for the Baker Monument Works in early days. Following retirement from his chosen trade, he served as park custodian for the city of Eagle Grove. Mr. Eversz is survived by his wife and two children, Mrs. Walter Kagle of Oskaloosa and Lowell Eversz of Chicago, and two grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Kastler Funeral home, in charge of Rev. Harrison G. Dawes. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery.

Louis P. Eversz, son of Louis and Hermena, was born February 14, 1870 at Norwalk, Wis. and passed away on December 3, 1950, after reaching the age of 80 years, 9 months and 19 days. His early childhood was spent around Ripon, Wisc. and as a young man moved to Mason City where he followed his trade as a Stone carver, On June 19, 1895, he was united in marriage to Daisy Harding and to this union two children were born. In the year of 1895 they moved to Eagle Grove where they resided for the past 65 years. He was a member of the Methodist church and served as choir director for 31 years. Mr. Eversz is survived by his wife and two children, Lowell and Vivian, two grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Kastler Funeral home in charge of Rev. Harrison Dawes. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery.
