FRED P. FOLL DIES AT HOME TUESDAY P.M.
Funeral Services For Prominent Eagle Grove Business Man, Will Be Held This Thursday Afternoon At Wilson Chapel

Fred P. Foll, 77, died at his home on West Broadway Tuesday afternoon. Mr. Foll had been in poor health for a number of years. He fell and broke his hip early in January and had never fully recovered from this accident. Mr. Foll came to Eagle Grove in 1902 from Lena, Ill. He rode to Eagle Grove on a bicycle taking four days to make the trip. He entered business with O. H. Duer at that time and was prominent and active in Eagle Grove civic life until his retirement. In 1915 he left his association with Mr. Duer and became bookkeeper for the Citizens Light and Power company. After several months of this he became associated with the Foll and Gunderson Electric shop. In 1918 he and L. E. Wilson established the Foll and Wilson Furniture and Undertaking business. Mr. Foll was active in that business until 1933 when the store closed out. Following this Mr. Foll was appointed to the Iowa State Tax Commission as a field representative which work he followed until retirement in 1948. He was a member and active in the First Congregational church serving for a number of years on the board. He was also Sunday school superintendent for 14 years. He was a Mason and active in the White Shrine. He was also president of the Eagle Grove Chamber of Commerce and a member of the board of that organization for many years.

Mr. Foll was born in Lena, Ill., on December 8, 1873. He is survived by his wife, one son Lee of Des Moines and one daughter Marjorie, Mrs. Orin Emerson of Eagle Grove, one sister Mrs. C. H. Duer of Eagle Grove and one brother Will of Lena, Ill.

Funeral services will be held Thursday (today) at 2 p. m. in the Wilson Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery. The Rev. Walter Ross of the Congregational church will officiate.
