Iola J. Baderschneider died Wednesday, March 1, at Valley Lutheran Hospital in Mesa, Arizona. Funeral services for Iola J. Baderschneider of Clarion were held Saturday, March 4, at an 11 a.m. service held at the First Lutheran Church in Clarion. Rev. William Granger officiated and burial was in the Norway Township Cemetery, Wright County. Music was provided by Joan Voigts and Kenneth Vorland. Casket bearers were grandchildren Lon Martin, Tim Smith, Scott Hill, Stuart Smith, Brad Hill, Chad Hart, Jeff Hill, Michelle Hart and Stacey Hart.

Iola J. Baderschneider, daughter of Peter Enge and Carrie Thompson Enge, was born in her parent's home north of Holmes. She received her early education in the country school system and graduated from Clarion High School in 1929. On February 19, 1931, Iola married Chester L. Edwards on the Enge family farm. To this union three daughters were born. They lived their lives farming in the area at several locations in Wright County. On December 14, 1986, she was united in marriage to A. T. (Tony) Baderschneider at Lake Lutheran Church in Renwick. They would spend the next 8 1/2 years together with many of their winters spent in Arizona. Iola was active in many areas of her life, which included many groups and organizations, the Lake Lutheran Church, Goldfield and First Lutheran Church, Clarion. Iola was a charter member of First Lutheran Church.

Her survivors include her husband, A.T. (Tony) Baderschneider, Clarion; three daughters, Charlene Smith and her late husband Robert; Caren Hill and her husband Jim, both of Omaha, Nebraska; and Pamela S. Hart of Plattsmouth, Missouri; two step-sons, Roger Baderschneider of Longwood, Florida, and Earl Baderschneider of Parsippany, New Jersey; ten grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and two brothers, Dr. P. C. Enge of Sun Lake, Arizona, and C. O. Enge of Green Valley, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Chester Edwards; her parents; one brother, Dr. E. H. Enge; and one great-grandchild, Todd.
