April 25, 1919 ---- September 15, 1993

Orlin Folkedal died September 15, 1993 at 5:15 PM at Belmont Nursing Home in Madison [Wisconsin]. He was a resident there for the last two and a half years. He was loved and respected and will be missed by his family. He was born on April 25, 1919 in Eagle Grove, Iowa to the late Herman and Aleda (Netland) Folkedal. He attended school in Eagle Grove and graduated from Eagle Grove High School. Orlin excelled at sports. He was a state championship wrestler and captain of his football team. Football remained the love of his life. He moved to Wisconsin in 1939. Shortly after he began his lifetime passion of dairy farming. He farmed in the Merrill area, Polar and Medford. His total involvement led him to serve on boards and was a director of Production Credit Association and State Council of Agriculture and Federation of Cooperatives, along with Midland Co-Op of St. Paul, MN. Orlin worked as a carpenter and construction worker. Later, he operated Dairy Leasing Services INC, and OK Sanitary Service. During his retirement he traveled extensively in the United States. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. He served as a lay preacher and elder. He lived as he believed. Orlin exhibited a love of nature, country, community, and family in every day life. He was never too busy to stop and talk. Funeral services were held at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Marshfield. Revs. Wendell Springer and Robert Stauffer officiated. Burial took place at Merrill Memorial Park [Merrill, Wisconsin]. Hensen Funeral Home Marshfield was in charge of arrangements.
