Barbara Ann Ward, 89, of Hampton, passed away Friday, May 20, 2016, at the St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. She was born March 9, 1927, in Alexander, Iowa, to LeRoy and Marie (Olson) Azeltine. Barbara graduated from Rowan High School in Rowan, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Robert "Bob" Ward on November 18, 1946, in Bethany, Missouri. Barbara was a member of the Hampton United Methodist Church, Methodist Church Women's Group and Mothers Club. She enjoyed reading, watching sports, antiques and spending time with her family. Barbara is survived by her son Michael (Pat) Ward of Hampton, son Richard (Sandy) Ward of Cedar Rapids, son Douglas (Maria Morrison) Ward of Olathe, Kansas, grandchildren Lori Ward, Kristin (Brent) Leis, Bryan (Andrea) Ward, Hannah Ward, Matthew Ward, great grandchildren Emma, Brayden and Paxton. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Dennis, brother Donald, sisters Modesta and Marilee. In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to Humane Society of North Iowa.
