Sylvia Mary (Betty) Rollins was born February 3, 1915 in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. She moved with her family to Los Angeles, Calif., where she completed her education. In 1947, she married Wayne Rollins, and they lived in Hawaii, California and Japan while he was in the U.S. Navy. After Mr. Rollins retirement from the Armed Service in 1956, the Rollins family moved to Webster City, In 1967, they moved to Eagle Grove where the couple owned and operated the Alibi tavern until 1975. After selling the business in 1975, the couple wintered in San Benito, Texas. Since July, 1991, she has been staying in the Dows Care Center in Dows.

Sylvia Mary (Betty) Rollins, 76 years, seven months, and 27 days old, of Eagle Grove, died Monday, September 30, 1991, at the Community Memorial Hospital in Clarion, following a lengthy illness. Survivors include her husband, Wayne; sons, Lee, Eagle Grove; Stephen, Stevens Point, Wis.; Harold Stevens, San Diego, Calif.; and daughter, Diana Bray, Marion, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; mother, Elsie Sandberg, Carlsbad, Calif.; brothers, Stephen Duffin and Raymond Duffin, both of the Los Angeles, Calif., area. No formal funeral services will be held. After cremation, her ashes will be scattered in the Pacific Ocean by her family fulfilling her request.
