February 25, 1851 --- July 14, 1902

After a lingering illness during which she was a great sufferer, Mrs. John Imboden found welcome relief in death last Monday evening. Hopes for her recovery were abandoned some weeks ago and the family and friends were ripened to the approaching bereavement. She has been an invalid for several months and all realized it was simply a contest of how long strength could resist death's relentless approach. Mrs. Imboden was born in Ohio in February of 1851 and was married to John Imboden in Illinois in 1868 [September 20]. After marriage they moved to Iowa and six years ago made their home in this city. She was a life member of the Dutch Reformed church, a true christian wife and mother. Six children were given her all of whom with husband survive her. Of the children all but two are residents of this county. J. C. moved to Oklahoma a year ago and Mrs. Wood lives at Dolliver. The funeral was held at the Baptist church Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock, Rev. Bump officiating, and the burial was in Rose Hill cemetery. The sympathy of the entire community is generously extended to the bereaved husband and family in a grief whose depth can only be known by experience.
