Florence Josephine Heim, 84, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, and formerly of Plainfield, Iowa, died on Friday morning, March 25, 2005, at her home in Hot Springs of natural causes.

Florence was born on January 20, 1921, in Hampton, Iowa, the daughter of Harry D. and Elesnor J. (Butcher) Stager. Florence attended school in Dows, Iowa, graduating from the Dows High School in 1941. On February 7, 1943, she was united in marriage to Omer Fred Heim in Dows, Iowa. The couple made their home in Dows until 1960 when they moved to Parkersburg and a short time later moved to Clarksville. In 1971, they moved to Plainfield until the fall of 2000, when they moved to Hot Springs.

Florence was a member of the United Methodist Church in Plainfield, and also attended the Methodist Church in Hot Springs until ill health did not allow her to do so. She enjoyed making afghans, gardening, and loved to read.

Florence is survived by her husband, Omer of Hot Springs, Arkansas, her four daughters and their husbands, Judy and Jim Miller of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Pat and David Waege of Janesville, Wisconsin, Liz and Steve Tiller of State Center, Iowa, Jean and Danny Bradley of Iowa Falls, Iowa; 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, June Nebergall.

Celebration of Life Services will held on Thursday, March 31, 2005, at 10:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Plainfield, with Pastor Doug Tharpe officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Dows. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly, and also for an hour before services on Thursday at the church. Memorials may be directed to the family.
