Last rites for Mrs. Lizzie Steffa, 69, will be today (Friday) at 2 p.m. at the Lindhart Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Warren Green, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery. Lizzie Myers was born at Mount Morris, Illinois Feb. 3, 1884. Her parents were John Anthony Myers and Barbara Ann Strock. After her marriage [February 7, 1912 in Humboldt] to John Steffa, they established their home near Hardy. Seven children came to bless this union: Mary (Mrs. Otto Huss) of New Virginia, Oliver M. Steffa of the U.S. Navy, stationed at Newport, R.I., Clarence Steffa of Humboldt, Hazel, (Mrs. Raymond Birnbaumer) of Hardy, Edith (Mrs. Raymond Farmer), and Geneva (Mrs. Russell Kaufman), both of Pendleton, Ore. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, one sister, Della Myers of Humboldt, two brothers, Denten Myers of Pamona, Calif., and Albert Myers of Leaf River, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her husband and a brother, Joseph Myers, who died last year.
