SPRINGFIELD, OREGON - The funeral will be held Sept. 20 for Dorothy Mae Stucky of Springfield, who died Sept. 16 of age-related causes. She was 81. Stucky was born Aug. 31, 1921, in Iowa Falls, Iowa, to Fred and Augusta Wehmeyer Rhodes. She was the first of 11 children. She married Karol Stucky in Berne, Minn., on July 22, 1940. He died July 22 of this year. She was a homemaker, and she enjoyed oil painting. She moved to this area 52 years ago. Stucky was active with a parent-teacher association, the Boy Scouts and the Girl Scouts. She was a member of the Thurston Christian Church. Survivors include six sons, Kneil of Brownsville, Roy, Dean and Robert, all of Springfield, Toby of Texarkana, Arkansas, and Richard of Spokane; a daughter, Louise Woosley of Florence; four brothers, William, Delbert, Robert and Jerome Rhodes, all of Minnesota; six sisters, Della Gillard, Mary Ellen Gillard, Charlotte Hughes, Carol Walker and Joanne Paulson, all of Minnesota and Linda Beckett of Wisconsin; 19 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Friday at the Major Family Funeral Home in Springfield. Friday's service will be at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Mound Vernon Cemetery in Springfield. Memorials contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
