CATHERINE AMELIA MALAISE
Catherine Amelia Bohy was born on June 10, 1904, the daughter of Louis and Clara Kallenbach Bohy at Amboy, Ill. She was united in marriage to Charles Malaise of Woolstock on January 15, 1924 at Webster City. The couple farmed near Woolstock until their retirement in 1968. At that time they moved to Eagle Grove. Mr. Malaise died in 1971. Mrs. Malaise was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Martha Circle, and the American Legion Auxiliary.Catherine Malaise died April 11, 1991, at her daughter's home in Eagle Grove of an extended illness, at the age of 86 years, 10 months, and one day. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Verne; son-in-law, Wayne Fawcett; brothers, Henry and Arthur Bohy; sister, Martha Best; one grandson, Daren Malaise; and one great-great-grandson, Chad Greenlee. She is survived by two sons, Harold, Spencer; and Ray of Webster City; three daughters, Mrs. Stanley (Dorothy) Lien, Eagle Grove; Mary Lou Fawcett, Eagle Grove; and Mrs. Don (LaVonne) Deuel, Woolstock; one brother, Charles Bohy, Clarion; three sisters, Mrs. Ogden (Esther) Johnson, Mrs. Clarence (Rose) Malaise and Mrs. Einer (Margaret) Erickson, all of Eagle Grove; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove, April 15, with the Rev. Maynard Moen officiating at the 1:30 p.m. services. Burial was in the French Cemetery, Woolstock. The Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home, Eagle Grove, was in charge of arrangements.
