Stella Larson was born January 11, 1891, at Egerson, [Egersund] Norway, the daughter of Ludvig and Greta Swenson Larson. The family came to America when she was three months old, and settled in Chicago where she attended school and grew to adulthood. She was united in marriage to Herbert Korslund of Thor at Chicago on February 25, 1922. The Korslunds returned to the Thor area, where they engaged in farming for many years, having lived on their present farm since 1922. Mr. and Mrs. Korslund became the parents of a son, Gerald, who now lives in Chicago. Mrs. Korslund had been in ill health for some time, and passed away in her sleep Saturday morning, October 17. At the time of her death, she was 79 years, 9 months, and 6 days of age. She is survived by her husband, and son Gerald. Also surviving are two grandchildren and three great grandchildren; two brothers: George Larson, Chicago, Ill. and Leonard Larson, Chicago, Ill.; and two sisters: Mrs. Louise Albertson, Chicago, Ill. and Mrs. Adeline Morris, Chicago, Ill. Mrs. Korslund was a member of the Thor Lutheran Church, the Ladies Aid and Church Circle. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and three sisters. Funeral services were held on Wednesday at 2 p.m., October 21, at the Thor Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Marlin Ingebretson officiating. Burial was in the North Lawn Cemetery at Fort Dodge.
