Malinde Alvina Soppeland was born at Clarion, Iowa, May 5, 1905, to the parents Halvor and Anna Soppeland, and died at her home in Eagle Grove, Iowa, March 2, 1939, at the age of 33 years, 9 months and 25 days. She was baptized, received instruction and confessed the Christian faith. She moved to Eagle Grove with her parents on March 1, 1918. On August 15, 1933, she was united in marriage to Clarence Johnson of Hardy, Iowa. Mr. and Mrs. Johnson lived for some time near Hardy, one summer they lived near Hanley Falls, Minn., and for several years they have made Eagle Grove their home. She is now survived by her husband and by her aged father, H. A. Soppeland; also by one brother, Orvis Soppeland, and by two sisters, Mrs. Hilborg Ree, Hanley Falls, Minn., and Hazel Soppeland, Eagle Grove. Mrs. Johnson was a sympathetic and kind lady, a good and helpful neighbor, a loving wife and a true friend. She will be missed by all who knew her. She loved her Saviour and her church. Funeral services were held Sunday, March 5 th from the home on South Park Avenue, and from the Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran church. Burial was made in the Rose Hill cemetery.
