Billy Eugene Rhiner was born on November 25, 1921,to William Rhiner and Lillian Watkinson Rhiner, in Eagle Grove, Iowa. He grew up in that area working as a farm hand until his induction into the Army on July 10, 1942 at Des Moines, Iowa. He served in the 669th Medical Clearing Company serving in the Aleutian Islands; Rhineland; and Central Europe. For his service he received the WWII Victory Medal; Good Conduct Medal: Asiatic Pacific Service Medal; European African Middle Eastern Service Medal and American Service Medal. After the war he settled in Colorado Springs for a number of years and then moved to Denver where he remained. He worked as an electrician and trouble shooter for the potato chip factory which changed owners several times during his tenure. He retired January 1, 1990.
He was preceded in death by his Mother and Father, one brother and four sisters. He is survived by his two daughters, Peggy and Debby, grandchildren, Jonathan and Shelley and many nieces and nephews.
He will be interred in Ft. Logan National Cemetery. Denver, Colorado on Friday, August 19, 2016 at 2:00pm, Staging Area A.
