Ryan Ahrens, 30, of Eagle Grove, formerly of Watseka, IL, passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, Monday, August 8, 2016 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, following a courageous 3-1/2 year battle with cancer. Visitation will be Thursday, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. There will also be a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Baier Funeral Home in Watseka, IL, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, Watseka.

Ryan Charles Ahrens, the son of Harold and Sheryl (Dukes) Ahrens, was born January 29, 1986, in Watseka, Illinois. The family moved to Eagle Grove in 1999. Ryan was a truck driver for Werner Enterprises - Omaha, NE "Family Dollar Account". He enjoyed radio controlled cars and trucks, working on cars, camping, DROIDS and was a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs. Ryan is survived by his mother, Sheryl Ahrens; brothers, Robert Ahrens and Shawn Ahrens and wife Jenna, all of Eagle Grove. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and father, Harold. Memorials may be left to the Wright County Humane Society or the American Cancer Society.
