January 11, 1842 ---- April 18, 1916

Lee Hazlewood was born in Johnson County, Mo., Jan. 11th 1842, and passed away at the home of his daughter Mrs. George Johnson in Renwick, April 18th. 1916, age 73 years. On the 19th day of February 1866, he was united in marriage to Miss Matilda Smith, to this union were born nine children, six sons and three daughters. All were present at the funeral except one son and one daughter who preceded him in death. Mr. Hazlewood enlisted in the 27th Indiana regiment in 1861 and served his country faithfully until the close of the war. In 1890 he came to Iowa settling on a farm in Boone township, Wright County, where he lived until a few years ago, when he moved to town. His last illness was of a short duration. The funeral service was held in the M. E. church, April 20, 1916 at 10 a.m., conducted by J. H. Perry pastor of the Baptist church. Burial was made in the Elmwood cemetery.
