Donald "Donnie" Gene Harms, 69, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at Mercy Medical Center in Mason City, Iowa, surrounded by his loved ones.

Donnie was born on May 28, 1947, in Wright County, Iowa to Taus and Cecelia (Heginger) Harms. He was united in marriage to Georgia Geerdes on November 15, 1969. Donnie worked for Chamberlain Trailers and for the City of Hampton. He enjoyed playing bingo, fishing, being outdoors, and gardening.

Donnie is survived by his wife Georgia Harms of Hampton, daughter Tammy Harms of Coulter, son Troy Harms of Geneva, daughter Tracy Harms of Des Moines, daughter Teresa Harms of Hampton, twelve grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, brother Ben (Jean) Harms of Mason City, brother Larry (Maxine) Harms of Sheldon, brother Harry (Barb) Harms of Hampton, sister Darlene Ewers of Mason City, sister Arlene Weimann of Mason City, brother Ronnie (Nancy) Harms of Belmond, brother Jerry (Marlene) Harms of Evansdale, and brother Gary Harms of Belmond. Donnie was preceded in death by his parents Taus and Cecelia Harms and brother Taus Harms, Jr.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 23, at the Hampton Cemetery in Hampton. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, July 22, at Sietsema Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton.
