Margaret E. (Peggy) Black, 82, Belmond, died July 18, 2016 at Iowa Specialty Hospital in Belmond. Services were held July 22 at the Belmond United Methodist Church. Burial was in the Belmond Cemetery.

Margaret Ellen, daughter of David and Ida (DeMolen) Paro, was born April 11, 1934 in Ewen, MI. She grew up in Bergland, MI where she attended schools, graduating in 1951. Peggy furthered her schooling for a time studying interior design. Peggy was united in marriage with Bernard Black in Battle Creek, MI on April 9, 1954. The couple celebrated 54 wonderful years of marriage and was blessed with two children, Tina and David. They first made their home in Battle Creek, later Kearney, NE, then Mexico City, and finally, the place they would always consider home, Belmond. Peggy worked as an interior decorator and at Printing Services.

Peggy enjoyed working in her flower garden and enjoyed watching and feeding the birds. She had an extensive love of reading, and her faith in God was strong. Peggy was a member of the United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, Belmond Golf and Country Club, and the Belmond American Legion Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bernie; and brothers David, Bill and Chuck. Peggy is survived by daughter Tina (Tim) Hieb of Alda, NE; son David (Marlene) of Belmond; grandchildren Mandi, Chelsea, Amanda, Cody, David, Chris and Dylan; great grandchildren Dominic, Logan, Delaney, Natalie, Blake, Brayden, London, Trinity and Greyson; and sister Glenna (Jim) Lentz of Cool Ridge, NE.
