Theresa Louise Staley, the daughter of John and Gloria A. (Romer) Staley, was born October 13, 1964, in San Francisco, CA. She graduated from Eagle Grove High School "Class of 1983". Theresa received her Cosmetology Degree from Burnell's School of Cosmetology in Fort Dodge. Theresa lived in Colorado Springs, CO, Lincoln, NE, Boone and Des Moines and returned to Eagle Grove and opened "Hair By Theresa" and she was able to do hair for over 15 years and had to stop in the mid 2000's after a 1998 diagnosis of ALPHA-1, a serious lung disease. She moved to the Rehabilitation Center in Belmond in October of 2013.

Theresa was an active and loving member of Grace Evangelical Free Church - she even volunteered as the church secretary for 4 years – often doing more with 10% of her lungs than those with 100%!!! She also volunteered at Eagle's Wings Day Care.

Theresa "loved" many things – to name a few: her daughter, Shelby; Elvis; horses; nature; family; her church family and God's Word.

Theresa passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2016, at the Rehabilitation Center of Belmond at the age of 51 years. She was preceded in death by her grandparents and parents, John Staley and Gloria Faiferlick. Theresa is survived by her daughter, Shelby Tait-Staley of Eagle Grove; sisters, Tammy Wehmeyer of Des Moines and Tracy Carstensen and her husband Brad of St. Joseph, MO. and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family. A Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 28, 2016, at Grace Evangelical Free Church in Eagle Grove with Pastor John Nett officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove.
