June R. Karnatz, age 86, of Nashua, Iowa, formerly of New Hampton, died Tuesday, March 18, 2015 at the 11th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City. Private family services will be held at a later date with interment in Calvary Cemetery, New Hampton.

June Rose Karnatz was born November 15, 1928, in Clarion, Iowa the daughter of Leverett and Rose (Siegel) Lillibridge. The family moved to New Hampton in 1932, where June received her education and was a 1946 graduate of the New Hampton High School. She had been employed as a bookkeeper for the former Stoltz Construction. On June 14, 1950, she was united in marriage to Melvin H. Karnatz. To this union four children were born. June and Melvin owned and operated Brown’s Seed and Supply Company in New Hampton from 1950 – 1963. She later worked at Chickasaw Tax and Accounting for eight years and the First National Bank for twelve years. June and Mel moved to Bentonville, AR in 1995 and upon Mel’s death in 2006, she moved to Nashua to be near family. June was a member of Holy Family Parish in New Hampton and St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Nashua.

She is survived by her three sons, Kevin Karnatz of Starkville, MS, Paul (Nolly) Karnatz of Houston, TX and Scott (Glenna) Karnatz of Nashua; four grandchildren, Brandon, Garrett and Kailey Karnatz and Santiago Karnatz; one sister, Doris Helfter of Pueblo West, CO. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mel; a daughter, Kathleen Karnatz; one sister, Marjorie Lillibridge; one brother, William Lillibridge.
