GONE BEFORE
Marvin Thomas, aged 18 years, died of pneumonia last Friday night at the home of his parents Mr. and Mrs. Robert Thomas. His death was a sad surprise to everybody, as he had been out of school but a few days, and while he was suffering very much his illness was not considered of sufficient importance that his father should be sent for. Mr. Rob't Thomas was at the bedside of his father at Marshalltown, and through some mistake did not receive any word of his son's death until be reached home Saturday morning. Rev. G. L. Shull conducted the funeral services at the home Sunday afternoon, which were largely attended by the many friends of Marvin and his parents. The sadly afflicted parents have the sympathy of all who know them, in their deep sorrow.
A Tribute by School Friends
Our schoolmate is no longer here
He has gone to that land above;
A loved one from us has flown
Into the world of love.When the angel, Death, at last came,
Though it wrung many a tender heart,
A blessed thought is, we shall meet again
Where we never more shall part.Oh, parents, brothers, and sisters dear
Let not your heart be grieved,
For twas the blessed Savior
That has taken away the child.BOONE VALLEY GAZETTE -- Eagle Grove, Iowa
