May Ella Jackson was born in Elburn, Illinois, February 26, 1865 to Joshiah J., and Emily Jackson. She spent her girlhood in Elburn, coming to Eagle Grove in 1888. On Sept. 20, 1887 she was united in marriage to James Montgomery Wright. He passed away the following year, 1888. On February 20, 1898 she was united with Albert Henry Waddell. He preceded her in death on January 12, 1931.
As a young woman she attended the Baptist Sunday School, as the church was organized. A few years after that she became a member and has remained in the church since. During the last fifteen years she has been living with her daughter in Des Moines during the school season. During the summer months she resided in Eagle Grove.
She leaves to mourn their loss, one son, James Jackson Wright of Highmore, S.D., and one daughter, Emily Margaret Waddell of Des Moines, besides close relatives and life long friends. Also two grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Those from out of town who attended the funeral were Miss Emma Waddell, Des Moines, Mr. and Mrs. Jay Wright, Highmore, S.D., Robert Waddell and Mrs. Charles Isles of Des Moines and Mr. and Mrs. O'Connor of Jewell.
