January 30, 1867 ---- May 9, 1937

B. F. White died in Mercy Hospital, Fort Dodge Sunday May 9th. He was taken to the hospital Tuesday morning May 4th for treatment for stomach ulcers and stomach hemorrhages and was found to be in a greatly weakened physical condition, for which on operation could afford no relief. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Kubitschek & Kastler Funeral Home with the Rev. Albert S. Kilbourn in charge. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery.

Mr. White moved his family to Eagle Grove in 1912. For 35 years Mr. White represented the Fort Dodge Grocery Company in northwest Iowa covering territory between Eagle Grove and Ida Grove. Ill health compelled him to retire from active work two years ago. Many of his old business associates who knew him as a splendid character and highly successful salesman were present at his funeral.

Eagle Grove loses an ideal citizen in the passing of Mr. White. He was a citizen of the highest integrity, honorable, upright, square. He was a substantial citizen in the real sense, centering his interest in his beautiful home on South Commercial Avenue and in his family. He shirked no duty, educated his children, met all obligations of any nature promptly and cheerfully. He was a member of the Congregational church and Masonic Lodge.

He was born Jan. 30, 1867 in Pottawatomie county, Kansas. His early life was spent at Oskaloosa, Iowa, where he was educated in the public schools and attended Penn College. He also attended Iowa State College, graduating with the class of 1893. He was united in marriage with Blanche Bradley at Ames on April 14, 1896. To this union five children were born, Henley Maxwell, dying in infancy and Velva Bradley in August, 1927. Surviving are his wife and three children, Alma Lee White, Boone, Brinton F. Jr., of Chicago, and Richard Norman of Boone, with whom Mr. and Mrs. White had been making their home during the winter, returning to Eagle Grove a short time before he was taken ill. One brother and one sister also survive, George K. White and Mrs. Dora Cook of Oskaloosa. His mother passed away last year at Oskaloosa at the advanced age of 97 years.
