Larry Jule Gragert, age 77 of Sterling, [Illinois] died Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at CGH Medical Center in Sterling.

Larry was born on April 16, 1939 in Clarion, Iowa, the son of Roy and June (Streit) Gragert. He is a United States Navy Veteran. Larry drove a truck for Lawrence Brothers until he retired, then went to work for Yellow Freight where he retired for the second time, and for the last 5 years he enjoyed driving for Cobaine Air Freight in Rock Falls. He was a loyal member of the Local #722 Teamsters and loved to travel.

Survivors include his significant other, Janice Wiersema of Sterling; three children, John (Lura) Gragert of Port Charlotte, FL, Frank Gragert of Germany and Kayla (Rodrigo) Ochoa of Naples, FL; one sister, Judy Bohms of TN; three brothers, Mike (Judy) Gragert of Rock Falls, Richard (Jayne) Gragert of Lexington, KY and John (Becky) Gragert of Rock Falls; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 8, 2016 from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. at the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. After the visitation, cremation rites will be accorded.
