Funeral services for Axel S. Andersen, 74, of Eagle Grove were held Monday afternoon at the Evangelical Lutheran church at 2 o'clock. The pastor Rev. H. W. Schiller officiated and burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery. Mr. Andersen died Thursday night at his home on North Iowa Ave. following a long illness. He is survived by his wife and four daughters, Mrs. Hiram Midland and Miss Vera Andersen of Eagle Grove; Mrs. Carroll Helmke of Renwick and Mrs. Emerson Purkapile of Seattle, Wash. Other survivors are eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren and one sister Mrs. Stina Andersen of Seattle, Wash. He was a long time employee of the Chicago and North Western R.R. but suffered a serious accident in 1953.
