Beatrice Marie Prehm, the daughter of Charles and Anna Davison Conklin, was born on Feb. 17, 1893, at Clarion, Iowa. She grew up and attended school in the Clarion area. She was united in marriage with John H. Prehm on June 22, 1913 at Clarion, Iowa. After their marriage, they lived in Eagle Grove, where Mr. Prehm was in the trucking business. In 1940, they moved to Ames, where they operated the Prehm Transfer and Storage until 1965, when they moved back to Eagle Grove. John and Beatrice had been residents of the Clarion Care Center since February of 1980. She died early Thursday morning at the Clarion Care Center, at the age of 89 years, 11 months and 16 days. She was a member of the Eagle Grove Assembly of God.

She is survived by her husband, John Prehm, Sr., of the Clarion Care Center; five daughters, Mrs. Robert (Nathalie) Neuman of West Des Moines; Mrs. Bernie (Anne) Case of Clarion; Mrs. Don (Darlene) Moore of Des Moines; Mrs. G. Max (Peggy) Christiansen of West Des Moines; Mrs. Marilyn Smith of Huron, S.D.; a son, John Prehm of Holmes, 19 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Ersel; a son, Dick; a sister, three brothers and a grandson.

Funeral services for Mrs. John Prehm, 89, of Eagle Grove, were held Saturday, Feb. 5, 1983 at 2 p.m. at the Eagle Grove Assembly of God Church. Rev. Paul Jackson of Eagle Grove and Rev. Norman Tosten of Des Moines officiated and burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Visitation was held on Friday at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home.
