December 17, 1918 ---- November 5, 1999

Leo Harold Peterson was born on December 17, 1918, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, the son of Peter and Christine Soppeland Peterson. He graduated from Fort Dodge High School and then attended the University of Minnesota. He managed the Central States Theater in Fort Dodge and Eagle Grove, Iowa. He was the promotional and credit manager for M & M Livestock Products Company for 20 years. He served in World War II and at the Battle of the Bulge. He was united in marriage with Dorothy Jean Burgess in 1940 at Clarion, Iowa. He was president of the Eagle Grove Country Club, President of the Chamber of Commerce, a member of the El Kahir Mini Patrol and was also a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Leo H. Peterson died Friday, November 5, 1999, at his home in Eagle Grove, at the age of 80. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; one daughter, Kit Fertig of Webster City, Iowa; three sons, Col. Scott Peterson of Washington, D. C, Joe Peterson of Eagle Grove, and Randy Peterson of Humboldt, Iowa; five grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters; and three brothers.

Memorial services were held on Monday, November 8, 1999, at the Willim Funeral Home in Eagle Grove with the Reverend Paul Stone officiating. Burial was held in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove. The body was cremated. Willim Funeral Home of Eagle Grove was in charge of the arrangements.
