Dorothy J. Peterson, 83, of Webster City, passed away on Saturday October 30, 2004, at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge. Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 2, 2004, from 5-7 p.m. at the Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. today, Wednesday, November 3, 2004, at the Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove with the Rev. Paul Stone officiating. Internment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove.

Dorothy Jean Peterson was born February 23, 1921, at Perry, Iowa, the daughter of Tom and Jesse Burgess. She was raised and educated in the Fort Dodge school system. On January 8, 1940, she married Leo H. Peterson at Clarion, Iowa. Dorothy worked for the Eagle Grove Community School District for over 25 years.

She is survived by her children; Randy Peterson and his wife, Mary, of Humboldt; Kathryn J. Fertig and her husband, Mike, of Webster City; Scott Peterson and his wife, Leslie, of Alexandria, Va.; and Joe Peterson of Indianola; five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Leo in 1999; and a sister, Virginia. The Foust Funeral Home of Eagle Grove was in charge of the arrangements.
