Cynthia Jeanne (Engman) Hanson, the daughter of Carl and Mabel Lorraine (Blair) Engman, was born April 23, 1953, in Dayton, Iowa. She was raised and educated in Dayton and graduated from Humboldt High School in 1972. Cindy worked as a CNA for many years in various nursing homes and in 1992, she graduated from ICCC, as a Registered Nurse and continued to care for the elderly.

On December 15, 1973, Cindy was united in marriage with Andy Hanson, in Newport, RI, where Andy was stationed. The couple returned to Iowa and made their home in Goldfield. Cindy enjoyed gardening, baking apple pies and studying the Bible.

Cindy passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2016, at the age of 63 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother; two sisters and son, Jacob O. Hanson. Survivors include her husband, Andy Hanson of Goldfield; three sons, Dan Hanson and wife Heather of Madrid, Gabriel Hanson of Ames and Nathan Hanson of Des Moines; granddaughters, Katelyn and Genevieve; four brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 29, 2016, at the United Presbyterian Church in Goldfield, with visitation on Wednesday from 10 am until service time. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
