Funeral Monday for Paul Collopy

Collopy, 74, who has lived in Eagle Grove for the greater part of his life time died Friday evening in Veterans Hospital, Des Moines where he had been a patient for the past six weeks. However he had had surgery previously and during the past year had been hospitalized several times. His wife has also been i11 for some time and is now a patient the Health Center, Friendship Haven, Fort Dodge.

Funeral services wore held Mon. afternoon at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home in charge of Rev. Emmett Braselton, pastor of the First Congregational Church, burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery. Mr. Collopy is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Harley Finley of Johnston, Mrs. Robert J. Nelson of Milwaukee. Wisc, three sons, Edward of Rochester, Minn., William of Clinton; Lloyd of Riverside, Calif. All the children were here for the funeral services. He is also survived by three sisters, and fourteen grandchildren.

Mr. Collopy was born in Eagle Grove Jan. 25, 1891. After completing school he went to Minneapolis, Minn. and later to Hawarden, where he was employed. He was married to Minnie Eastman in Hawarden, and the family moved here in 1931. He was employed as a switchman for the Chicago and North Western RR for 33 years and retired in 1956. He was a Veteran of World War I was a member of the American Legion and the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen.
