May 12, 1884 ---- April 4, 1969

Weir Hoctor Egemo, son of Hoctor and Gunhilde Egemo was born May 12, 1884 at Skaanevik, Norway. At the age of 15 he came from Norway and settled in the Story County area.

On February 10, 1910 he was united in marriage to Celia Ness of Story City, Iowa and to this union six sons and five daughter were born. They farmed until 1933 when they came to Eagle Grove where he worked for the county until his retirement.

On April 4, 1969 at the Mercy Hospital, Fort Dodge, Weir passed away having reached the age of 84 years, 10 months and 22 days. He had been a patient for two weeks.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson and one daughter-in-law. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Celia; and six sons and five daughters, Howard, Verner, Lawrence, Harlan all of Eagle Grove; Arnold of Grundy Center, Iowa, William of Fort Dodge; Beatrice, Mrs. Therman Burk; Marjorie, Mrs. Glenn Lund; Arlene, Mrs. Arthur Spangler, Jr. of Eagle Grove; Grace, Mrs. LeRoy Thompson of Hardy; Catherine, Mrs. Lurman DeWinter of Thor, Iowa. Thirty-eight grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, Lewis Egemo of Fenton, Iowa, and two sisters, Mrs. Rachel Nearness of Kelly, Iowa and Mrs. Martha Helland of Ames, Iowa.

Funeral services were held Monday 2 p.m. at the Samuel Lutheran church Eagle Grove, Iowa with Pastor Marvin L. Dooley officiating. Interment was held on the family lot in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
