A private family service for Jody M. Mericle of Eagle Grove, Iowa, will take place July 9 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove, Iowa. Jody Mericle passed away on June 18 at her home. The Foust Funeral Home of Eagle Grove, Iowa, is handling the arrangements.

Jody Marie Bjornson was born Feb. 2, 1959 to Robert and Eldene (Ellsworth) Bjornson. Jody grew up in Eagle Grove and was an Eagle Grove High School graduate, “Class of 1977”. She married Doug Cellan on April 30, 1977. They later parted ways. Jody worked several jobs throughout the years, but her joy was found in raising her children Jaime and Ryan.

She was known for her sewing talent, her love of her granddaughters, Hannah, Taylor and Tori; her passion for the Chicago Cubs and her caring spirit.

Jody is survived by her daughter, Jaime (Mike) Bliesmer; son, Ryan (Brandi) Cellan; granddaughters, Hannah, Taylor, Tori; parents, Don and Eldene Mericle; brothers, Brian Bjornson, Jeff (Lisa) Mericle; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her father Robert Bjornson Jr., and her grandparents.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family. Blessed be the memory of Jody Mericle.
