January 13, 1931 ---- June 21, 2016

George G. Baker, 85, of Mason City, IA and formerly of Eagle Grove, IA, died Tuesday, June 21, 2016, in Clear Lake, IA. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 25, 2016, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue, with Pastor Ed Bard officiating. Inurnment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove. There will be a gathering of family and friends at 2:00 PM on Sunday, June 26, 2016, at the Family Table, 618 S. Commercial, Eagle Grove. All are welcome.

George was born January 13, 1931, in Eagle Grove, the son of Glenn and Lulu Belle (Fisher) Baker. He graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1950. George was united in marriage to Bernadine Ann Anderson on September 21, 1956. George worked as a Hog Buyer for 45 years between Armour, Morrell and Swift. George enjoyed spending time with his family. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, target shooting and tinkering. He was very social and looked forward to gathering with classmates and friends in Eagle Grove.

George is survived by four children: LuAnn Wilcox (Tom) of Lawrence, KS; Kurt Baker (Patti) of Albia, IA; Cheryl Huff (Scot) of Colorado Springs, CO; and David Baker (Patti) of Iowa Falls, IA; Eleven grandchildren: Nick Wilcox (Amy), Shawnee, KS; Nicole Garber (Jake), Lawrence, KS; Jenna Wilcox, Kansas City, KS; Zach Baker, Iowa City, Iowa; Matt Baker, Albia, IA; Kyle Huff (Tabitha), Chicago, IL; Blair Davis (Josh), Colorado Springs, CO; Breck Baker, Lee’s Summitt, MO; Emily, Ellie and Erica Baker, Iowa Falls, IA; Seven great grandchildren: Colton and Ava Wilcox, Shawnee, KS, Owen, Drew and Will Garber, Lawrence, KS; Jaxon and Caleb Davis, Colorado Springs, CO. George was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife: Bernadine in 2014.
Our father was a kind, fun loving and gentle man and he will be greatly missed by his family.
