Grace I. (Hoyt) Lindsay, 97, of Clarion, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2016 at the Clarion Wellness and Rehabilitation Center in Clarion. A memorial gathering for Grace Lindsay will be held from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Friday, June 24, 2016 at Ewing Funeral Home, 1801 Central Avenue East in Clarion.

Grace Irene Hoyt was born December 13, 1918 to Everett and Jean (McCutcheon) Hoyt in rural Clarion. She graduated from Eagle Grove High School with the class of 1937. Grace was united in marriage to Ronald Lindsay on July 12, 1940 in Nebraska. She and Ronald made their home on the family farm, where she was a homemaker in their early years together. Later, Grace worked as a clerk in the Wright County Assessor’s Office and retired at age 67. She enjoyed reading, playing cards, working puzzles, and traveling.

Grace is survived by her daughter Donna McGinnis of Spanaway, Washington; her son Russell (Connie) Lindsay of Albuquerque, New Mexico; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Ronald, her son Ed, her parents, and six brothers and sisters.
