Elizabeth Gleason was born in Allamakee county, near Wexford, Iowa, March 23, 1862. At an early age, she moved from there with her parents to Mason City. In 1888 she was married to Thos. F. Maloney at Mason City, who preceded her in death. Two children were born to this union, Earl T. Maloney of this city, and Marie Maloney, who died in 1918. Mrs. Maloney came to Eagle Grove in 1908 and entered the restaurant business. She continued in this for five years, until her health began to fail, when, she sold the business and retired in 1913. The remaining years of her life were spent at her home at Southeast Second Street where she passed away Wednesday morning, Feb. 3, 1926. She is survived by one son, Earl T. Maloney of this city; four sisters, Mrs. David Grady, Monona. Iowa; Mrs. Edward Keenan, Manly, Iowa; Mrs. Wm. Buckley, Portland. Ore.; and Mrs. Edmond Burke, Minneapolis, Minn.; one brother, W. J. Gleason, of Mason City. Iowa.
Funeral services were held in Sacred Heart church Friday morning. Very Rev. T. Nolan had charge of the services. Interment was made in Calvary cemetery
Relatives from afar attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. David Grady of Monona, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Edward Keenan of Manly, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Gleason of Mason City, Iowa; John Clifford of St. Paul, Minn.; Mrs. Victor Carlson of Minneapolis, Minn.; and M. P. Kelley of Doherty, Iowa.
