Leonard McKinley Rising passed away Tuesday, Oct. 30, 1979, in his home at the age of 80. Leonard was born August 6, 1899, in Casey, Ia. to Charles & Ellen Cuttell Rising. He attended school in Rolfe and Eagle Grove. After he graduated from high school he went to work for the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad in Rolfe and then on to Eagle Grove. On August 2, 1931 Leonard was united in marriage to Mildred Copp in her parents home in Eagle Grove. Leonard retired from the Railroad on June 30, 1964. Mrs. Rising passed away June 7, 1979. Surviving him are his sister, Lucille Langford; two nieces and three nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, wife, four brothers and four sisters. Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 2, 1979, 2 p.m. at United Methodist Church, Eagle Grove. Rev. Donald Callen officiated and burial was at Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
