A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at the United Methodist Church, Renwick, with Reverend Lynn Gardner officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, May 30, 2016, also at the church. Interment will be held in Elmwood cemetery, Renwick.

Mary Ann was born in Goldfield, Iowa on August 25, 1933, to Andrew Martin and Myrtle Gray (Chapman) Steffenson. She was baptized and confirmed at the Holmes Lutheran Church and grew up in rural Goldfield, attending the Liberty #6 Country School. She graduated from Goldfield High School in 1951.

Mary Ann was united in marriage to Robert Allen Lane of Renwick on August 5, 1951 at the Renwick Methodist Church, where she enjoyed being an active member for the past 65 years. She worked four years in the office at Meredith in Clarion, Iowa. Some of her hobbies included gardening, bird watching, baking and keeping her counter tops full of baked goods, and especially following her children's and grandchildren's activities. She enjoyed going to the family cabin near Pequot Lakes, Minnesota for many years and enjoyed going to the shows in Branson, Missouri. Mary Ann was a member of Gertrude Chapter #500 of the Order of the Eastern Star. She also belonged to the Red Hats and enjoyed these get-togethers. Mary Ann enjoyed getting together with the Birthday group as well. Most importantly, she enjoyed faith, family, and friends.

Mary Ann (Steffenson) Lane of Renwick, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home, Fort Dodge at the age of 82. Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Robert Lane of Renwick, Iowa; sons James (Kayla) Lane of Rushford, Minnesota, Richard (Linda) Lane of Renwick, Iowa, Jerry Lane of Belmond, Iowa, daughter Lori (Russ) Hawley of Vail, Iowa, 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, sister Merlyn (Jerry) Tjelle, brother Orville (Charlotte) Steffenson, and sister-in-law Bev Steffenson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Myrtle Steffenson; an infant daughter, Sue Ann Lane; great grandson, Evan Eckles; brothers Alvin Steffenson, Andrew (Rosina) Steffenson, Norman (Louise) Steffenson, Kenneth Steffenson, Carol Steffenson, and sister Betty (Kurt) Sunner.
