Jacqueline Jones, 63, of Montgomery died Wednesday, October 31, 2007 after a courageous battle with cancer. She died at home surrounded by family and loved ones. She was born October 20, 1944 to John and Margaret Mau in Racine, WI. After moving to Illinois in her young adulthood, Jacque spent her time as a homemaker, raising her five children. After moving to Geneva in 1977, she began her working career at Robbins Flowers in Geneva where she met her current husband, Steven. She also worked at Strawflower Shop in Geneva, Ball Horticulture in West Chicago, Furnas Electric in West Chicago, and part-time at Family Laundromat in Montgomery. She did daycare out of her home for several years and she took care of her grandchildren. She was loving, nurturing, kind and was known as "Grandma" by all the children whose lives she touched.
Jacqueline was very artistic and loved floral arranging and cake decorating. She had a unique ability to create wonderful cakes; which she made on every occasion for her family and friends. She enjoyed spending time with her family, working in the yard, crocheting and cooking. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Steven and his two sons, Mitch and Matt of Eagle Grove, IA; five children, Terry (Norm) Sutherland of Batavia, Randy (Eileen) Vyvyan of Maple Park, Dwight Dixon (Michelle Hartman and her daughter, Haley) of Yorkville, Dan (Dena) Dixon of Shorewood and Heather (Frank) DeFranco of Yorkville; ten grandchildren, Norman, Erin, Brianne and Timothy Sutherland, Brittney Vyvyan, Madison and Mason Dixon, Gaetan, Gage and Dominic DeFranco; her sister, Shirley (Ed) Bleichner of Racine, WI; her aunt, Vie Klinkhammer of Racine, WI; and special friends, Mona and Bob Coker and their children, Nicole and Emily.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Margaret Mau of Racine, WI; and her brother, Donald Mau of Racine, WI.The cremation was handled by Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway, Montgomery, IL A memorial celebration of Jacqueline's life will be held at Walter Payton's Roundhouse upstairs in the Lager Room on Sunday, November 11, 2007 from 1-4pm, 205 N. Broadway, Aurora, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the family or to a charity of their choice in Jacqueline's name.
