Patricia was born February 19, 1927, to Orville and Martha Sill of Eagle Grove, Iowa. She graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1945 and went on to attend EG Community College. She so enjoyed attending her high school reunions including her 50th. She married Vernelle L. Moenck, June 6, 1948. Their daughter, Roxanna, was born in 1953. Her teaching career started in 1946, in a single room school house in Fremont Township. She attended summer school at Buena Vista College and Drake University until she received her Bachelor’s degree in Education. She taught in Eagle Grove, Fort Dodge, Des Moines, Alleman, and Milford, Iowa, before Pat and Roxi relocated to Webster City in 1964. Pat taught elementary school at South, Hilltop, and Sunset in Webster City. She retired from elementary education in 1987 spanning a 41-year career in the Iowa Public School System.
She married Charles (Chuck) Fritz in 1968. They were active in the Moose Lodge and Trinity Lutheran Church. Pat was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, National Education Association, and retired teachers. After his death, she moved to California to be closer to her daughter. They shared a home in Manteca, Calif., where Pat took much pleasure in gardening, reading, and scrapbooking. Her health began to decline in June of 2014. She chose hospice care in October of 2014, and passed at home surrounded by her daughter, Roxanna, and son-in-law, Andre Augustine, as she had wished.
A Celebration of life was held in Manteca on February 19, 2015, on what would have been her 88th birthday. Preceding her in death were her parents; brother, Donald and wife Dorothy Sill; sister, Laura Sill Fisher and husband, Norman, Vernelle Moenck, and Charles Fritz.
