Donald E. Reicks, age 72, of Belmond, formerly of Cresco passed away Wednesday May 11, 2016 at his home in Belmond. Graveside services for Donald E. Reicks will be held at 11:30 A.M. Saturday May 14, 2016 at St Peters Lutheran Cemetery near Riceville, Iowa. Friends may greet the family at the cemetery prior to the service. Visitation for Donald E. Reicks will be held from 4:00 – 6:00 P.M. Friday May 13, 2016 at Dugger Funeral Home, 111 Luick’s Lane South in Belmond. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorial be made to the Belmond Hospital Auxillary in Donald’s name.

Donald Edward, son of Edward and Viola Ollendieck Reicks, was born on April 16, 1944 in Cresco. On May 1, 1965, Donald was united into marriage to Cheryl Kapka. After marriage, the couple lived in Rochester and Willmar, Minnesota and Mason City, Northwood, and Thompson, Iowa. The couple was blessed with two children: Becky and Randy. In 2011, Don moved to Belmond. He enjoyed working on and cleaning cars. He also enjoyed polka music.

Donald is survived by his dog Sammy, daughter Becky (Dennis) Colby, his son Randy (Maria) Reicks, five grandchildren: Tonee (Cody) Nicholas, Joe, Casey, Lucas, Katelyn, three step grandchildren: Tim, Katy, and Kristina, and seven great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Cheryl and parents Edward and Viola.
